 FosterBridge is Serenity Kennel’s core program designed to support individuals entering inpatient chemical dependency treatment by ensuring their pets have a safe and caring place to stay during that time. For many people, the uncertainty of who will care for their animals can become a real barrier to seeking treatment. Pets are often family, and the thought of surrendering them or leaving them without reliable care can prevent someone from taking the important step of entering recovery. FosterBridge exists to remove that barrier.

Through FosterBridge, dogs and cats belonging to individuals entering treatment are placed in temporary foster homes where they can remain safe, stable, and well cared for while their owners focus on recovery. The program operates through referral partnerships with participating treatment facilities, allowing individuals who are preparing to enter inpatient care to access temporary foster placement for their pets without giving up ownership.

Placements are typically structured around 30, 60, or 90 day timeframes depending on the length of the treatment program. During the foster period, Serenity Kennel works closely with foster caregivers to ensure pets receive consistent care, attention, and oversight so they remain healthy and comfortable.

The goal of FosterBridge is not only to care for animals, but also to support people during one of the most important transitions of their lives. By ensuring pets are safe during treatment, individuals can focus on recovery without the fear of losing a companion they love. When treatment is complete, pets are reunited with their families so they can move forward together.
